Personal Profile

Dr. Robin Kent has a B.Eng.(Hons.) in Materials Engineering from Monash University (Australia) and a Ph.D. in Polymer Physics from the University of Surrey (UK)). He has worked in plastics processing, primarily with PVC-U extrusion, since 1972 and has been Technical Director for several of the major plastics processing companies in the UK and Europe. His publications include over 220 technical and management papers and articles on plastics and windows and he regularly lectures on materials technology and windows. He has chaired 5 committees setting standards for the UK window industry and currently sits on the Research and Technical Committees of the Centre for Window and Cladding Technology. He is a past Chairman of the Plastics Consultancy Network (PCN) and is Managing Director of Tangram Technology Ltd.

Tangram Technology Ltd. was formed in 1996 as a technology based consultancy dealing with the needs of the plastics processing, plastics building products and PVC-U windows industries.

Tangram provides high quality change management, technical writing, training, product design consultancy and field services these industries.

Our client base consists of plastics processors, window systems designers, window fabricators, specifiers, large contractors, hardware manufacturers and consumers and includes many of the largest plastics processing companies in the UK.

We specialise in injection moulding and extrusion technology and produced the recent RAPRA Review Report on Plastics Profile Extrusion.

Tangram is not a general engineering or management consultancy and supplies the specialist technical knowledge that is needed by these industries.
